Robert Kantas

Robert Kantas has maintained an international securities arbitration and litigation practice for more than twenty years. Prior to becoming Of Counsel, Robert was a partner at the securities law firm of Shepherd, Smith, Edwards & Kantas, a firm that still bears his name. He has successfully completed dozens of securities cases against major brokerage firms including Merrill Lynch, Morgan Stanley, Smith Barney, Edward Jones, UBS, Wachovia, A.G. Edwards, AIG SunAmerica, and Interactive Brokers, among others – recovering millions of dollars for defrauded investors across the nation. Mr. Kantas was lead counsel on a $200 million Collateralized Debt Obligation/Credit Default Swap case where he represented five Wisconsin School Districts. The case was widely reported both locally and nationally, including CNN, The New York Times, the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, and National Public Radio.

Mr. Kantas has written and taught on the subject of securities arbitration and specifically broker/customer disputes. Prior to beginning his law practice, he served in the United States Air Force for more than ten years.
